## Write directly

- `/msg <player> <message>` writes to a player directly.
- `/r <message>` replies to your last conversation.

Instead of `/msg` you can also use `/dm`, `/w`, `/tell` and `/whisper`. Instead of `/r` you can use `/reply`.

## Consent

You can only send direct messages once you consent. Open `/settings dm` for this. Direct messages are stored for 24 hours so that rule breaks can be reported. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

Without consent, the game holds your message back briefly. Once you consent, you can still send or discard it.

## When someone is offline

If you write to a player who is offline, the game asks whether to leave the message. If you confirm, they see it on their next visit under `/account messages`.

## Who may write to you

Under `/settings requests` you choose who may send you direct messages: everyone, friends or nobody. Anyone you write to can reply for a while. How long is set under **Reply window**.

## Blocking

- `/block <player>` blocks a player.
- `/unblock <player>` unblocks them.
- `/blocked` shows the players you blocked.

Instead of `/block` you can use `/ignore`, instead of `/unblock` `/unignore`, instead of `/blocked` `/ignored`. The player does not need to be online.
